20th February 2017

We’re looking for contributors for our Humans and Bots event, taking place on 8th June 2017 in York.

The deadline for applications has now ended.

The event & format

Humans and Bots is a one-day single-track conference. We’re expecting around 300 attendees including designers, developers, managers and anyone with a curious mind and an interest in learning something new.

The event will be split into 4 sessions, each lasting approx. 75-90 minutes. Each session will have 4-5 contributors, plus a host.

Who we’re looking for?

Anyone working, or with an interest in bots, artificial intelligence or virtual reality. You’ll be able to contribute to one or more of the following:

  • What makes for good (and bad) interaction design
  • How bots/automation can improve your business/life
  • The practical uses for Virtual Reality (outside of entertainment)
  • Living with Artificial Intelligence - discussing the positive and negative effects of allowing ‘smart’ devices into our homes and lives.

No previous speaking experience is necessary.

What we expect

You’ll be part of a panel for the duration of one session. Our host will interview you about your experiences and you’ll be able to contribute to the wider discussion. You will not need to give a talk and you will not need to prepare a presentation.

What we can offer

We’ll cover your travel expenses* and provide a hotel, as well as offer a speakers fee. You’ll also get lunch on the day and you’ll be invited to our speaker’s reception on the 7th June.

Applications have now closed.
